Packing Your Gear

Come prepared. You will be paddling in a harsh desert environment, with total exposure to the elements. Temperatures can vary greatly, so it is best to be prepared for all types of weather conditions. We have put together a recommended gear list for you, which will help keep you comfortable while enjoying the outdoors.

What to Bring
  • Shorts or pants and shirt (not cotton)
  • Dress in layers during cool weather or winter months
  • Flip flops, sandals, or water shoes
  • Swimsuit (wear under clothes)
  • Hat and sunglasses
  • Water and Snacks
  • Camera and plenty of film
  • Extra batteries
  • Towel
  • National Parks Pass or $5/car

Price Includes
  • Rental Kayak or Canoe
  • Paddle
  • Life Vest
  • All safety equipment
  • A dry bag for your essentials
  • Delivery to the PWC beach at Lake Mead

NOTES: This supply list covers the kayak and canoe rentals on Lake Mead. Based on our years of experience, we suggest items to consider for your trip - but you should bring what will best suit your needs. The desert can be cool in the mornings, and extremely hot in the middday sun. Summer temperatures are searing, and you will want protection from the sun. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will help you find the right gear.
