What is included during the trip?
Guided trips are all inclusive. Hotel transportation from Las Vegas, transfers and fees, and high-end equipment is included.
Bikes, helmets, kayaks, life vests, paddles, and all safety gear wil be provided. You will be served lunch, snacks, and bottled water.
How long does the tour last?
Door to door, the Surf & Turf adventure is approximately 7 hours in length.
What kind of experience do your guides have?
Our guides have years of experience in the outdoors; both personally and professionally. They possess a vast knowledge
of the areas we visit, the trails, the wildlife, the plants, and weather patterns. Before they can lead trips, they must
complete an intensive training program which prepare them to manage groups, make good decisions, and handle emergencies.
CPR and First Aid training, as well as Wilderness First Aid or First Responder is standard, and we carry satellite radios
and/or cell phones at all times.
What kind of bikes and kayaks do you use?
We have a variety of mountain bikes by Specialized, Kona, Santa Cruz, GT, and other quality brands. Our composite kayaks are made by SEDA. Rudders make steering a breeze, while sealed hatches keep your belongings dry. Our plastic touring kayaks are by Necky, and sit-on-top kayaks from Bic Sports.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
For the enjoyment of everyone on the Surf & Turf trips, participants must be 14 years or older.
What should I bring/wear?
Take a look at our packing list section,
for a complete outline of items to bring on the Surf & Turf. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call our office.
We will be happy to answer any questions you have about clothing, water shoes, cameras, etc.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes! We offer student rates, which are discounted by $10. You must fax or email us a valid/current student ID to qualify.
Do you supply alcohol? May we bring our own?
No. Alcohol is not permitted during activities such as the Surf & Turf.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes. Space is limited, so you should make your reservations as soon as possible.
Are there minimum participant requirements?
Yes. The Surf & Turf trips have a minimum number of 2 participants in order to run as scheduled. If you are riding solo, please
call us to check availability - we may be able to add you onto an existing trip.
Should I buy travel insurance?
If you are concerned about the possibility of having to cancel, we strongly suggest you purchase trip cancellation
insurance to protect your vacation investment. Our cancellation policy will apply in every instance, with no
exceptions for any reason. Desert Adventures is not responsible for any expenses incurred due to travel delays,
flight cancellations, or illness. Desert Adventures assumes no financial responsibility for personal injury,
emergency evacuation, or equipment lost or damaged in any way.
What if I have to cancel?
We have a 14 day cancellation policy. Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to departure date will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made within those dates will be issued a percentage of their refund, with absolutely no refunds or
rescheduling within 48 hours. If you must reschedule, we require 48 hours notice and rescheduling fees
will apply. Desert Adventures will not issue any refund for leaving a trip early.
Trips run rain or shine. Desert Adventures reserves the right to cancel trips due to weather or unsafe
conditions. In this case, we will reschedule, issue a credit, or refund money, depending on individual
